Pots From Patterns
A Hands-on Workshop With Liz Zlot Summerfield
August 8 - 9, 2009 • 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Students will learn to create a variety of handbuilt functional pots using paper patterns and soft clay slabs. Students will make their own paper patterns in class and explore the many shapes one can create from a single pattern. The class will explore a variety of forms including lids, feet, and spouts. This class is versatile enough to inspire the beginner through advanced artist. |

Watercolor: Taking It To a New Level

This is a workshop for artists of all skill levels. If you’re new to watercolor, you’ll learn some great habits here. If you’re experienced in the medium, you’ll walk away with some great new tips and techniques. Sterling will show participants how to stylize their work — sometimes taking it all the way to abstract. Because of its transparent and luminous qualities, watercolor is an ideal medium for creating rich, and often glowing, abstract paintings. |
