Sunset River Studio SignThe Studio is a comfortable, airy space with the kind of natural light that artists love. We’re located in the historic fishing village of Calabash, North Carolina in the southeastern corner of the state. With the local waterfront, salt marshes, farmland, beaches, rivers and gardens practically at our doorstep, inspiration abounds everywhere.

We opened our doors in February 2006, and since then have developed a reputation for top quality artist workshops with a roster of instructors that have included such nationally known names as John Poon and James Sulkowski.

Calabash Tobacco BarnThe Studio is a division of Sunset River Marketplace, an eclectic art gallery, also in Calabash, which showcases works by some of the finest artists in North and South Carolina. The gallery is also home to a full service custom frame department, a pottery studio with two kilns and a classroom for children’s programs and ongoing adult art classes.
