Chuck McLachlan
New Ways With Watercolor: Painting On Canvas!
June 5 - 7, 2008 • $295

In this three-day workshop, veteran watercolor artist Chuck McLachlan will explore traditional and non-traditional techniques, using washes, ink, charcoal and watercolor to create works on canvas. The class will also cover fundamentals that also apply to watercolor painting on paper.

Figure Drawing From Life

This drawing workshop will be focused on both short and long pose charcoal drawings from life models. Different techniques mentioned in the instructor's book will also be introduced and practiced in class. Other than techniques, students will also be encouraged to find their own way of seeking beauty from each pose when practice, and interpret what they found with a personal artistic approach instead of just copying.

Landscape Painting In Oil

This workshop will cover the various fundamentals of composition, color and value as the basis for painting successful landscapes. Working from both reference and directly from life, it is the aim of the class to help the individual develop greater skills of observation and greater technical competency in painting. The class will be comprised of lecture, painting demonstrations, class discussion, and individual attentionClass limited to 15 artists.

Watercolor: Taking It To a New Level

This is a workshop for artists of all skill levels. If you’re new to watercolor, you’ll learn some great habits here. If you’re experienced in the medium, you’ll walk away with some great new tips and techniques. Sterling will show participants how to stylize their work — sometimes taking it all the way to abstract. Because of its transparent and luminous qualities, watercolor is an ideal medium for creating rich, and often glowing, abstract paintings.
